The Love Story of Harley Quinn and the Joker Confuses Margbie Robbie
The love story between Harley Quinn and the Joker was shown in Suicide Squad in 2016. Unfortunately, in a film that sagged in the market, it all ended up confusing. And, confusion is not only in the audience. Starring Harley Quinn, Margot Robbie was dizzy with Harley and Joker’s relationship in the film.
Maybe that confusion is one of the reasons why the film Birds of Prey shows that Harley lives alone. In the film, Harley and Joker have broken up. This film also will not continue the story in the Suicide Squad. Margot believes this concept will provide an opportunity for the audience to gain Harley’s experience that might make them related, except for the explosion part.
In the first trailer of Birds of Prey, Harley said that he had moved on from Mistah J (Joker). However, Margot later explained how one of his challenges with the character was also explained by the change in Harley’s journey.
“I didn’t specifically read the script because I was in another project before the script was written, so it came together. I think what always surprises me, or something else and I say when publishing Suicide Squad, the first film, that his relationship (Harley) with the Joker always makes me confused.
That’s what makes me dizzy. In this film, we explore him without a Joker. And I understand their breakup. That is something that I feel everyone can understand and relate to. Even though he faced it with — like blowing up something, I didn’t do it. I understand the motivation that arises in a series of thoughts, “said Margot to Screen Rant.
Harley fans who love separation have another reason to be happy. The producers of this film confirm that Harley will be the narrator of this film. He will share his vision of his breaking up with the Joker. Even if the Joker version of Jared Leto does not appear, his role in this part of the Harley story also does not require him to appear.
Meanwhile, Margot admitted that he read a lot of comics to be able to explore this Harley character. He did a lot of research to prepare himself before the Suicide Squad. He even still did it when Warner Bros. planning to make Birds of Prey.
“I was first pitched (Birds of Prey) when we were still filming Suicide Squad. Because I keep saying Harley is better when there are people who can play with him. And, I still think that in real life I have a female gang, like my group of female friends, and I’m like, I just want Harley to have a girl gang. I want a girl gang for Harley.
And, then, obviously, I have read many comics, all of which involve Harley. And, one line separating this comic is The Birds of Prey, which began to read. “Harley is not a traditional member of Birds of Prey, but it’s a fun girl gang, I think,” Margot was quoted as saying by Comic Book.
The film Birds of Prey will also feature Cassandra Cain (Ella Jay Basco), Black Mask (Ewan McGregor) and Victor Zsasz (Chris Messina). Besides, there is also Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Dinah Lance aka Black Canary. Birds of Prey is scheduled to appear in theaters on February 7, 2020.
