Black Widow Will Become the Foundation of the Future of Marvel Films
Several interesting things displayed Marvel Studios in a new show for the film Black Widow. Aired on CCXP or Comic-Con Brazil in Sao Paulo, the film plot which will be aired next year is starting to unfold. Besides, the film, starring Scarlett Johansson, will also open Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Quoted from Screen Rant, the new Black Widow shows the Red Guardian struggling to wear his old uniform. The retired hero then goes to the dining table and meets Natasha Romanoff, Yelena, and Melina as seen in the first Black Widow trailer. Melina then told the Red Guardian that she hasn’t been washing the costume and said it smells amazing. “You look amazing,” Melina said.
In the scene, Red Guardian, Melina, Natasha, and Yelena sit as a family. Red Guardians act as fathers, Melina is the mother, with Natasha and Yelena their children. In that scene, the Red Guardian looks happy because they can gather again.
“Because we are a fake family, I don’t think we will use the term,” Melina said.
When their two ‘daughters’ drank vodka, Melina turned to Yelena. “Your nose is big now,” he said. “Now, your nose is beautiful,” he continued. The scene ends with the Red Guardian telling his two children to listen to their mother. After that, the scene switches to the trailer that Marvel had released earlier this week and several new footages. The trailer ended with the Red Guardian asking Natasha if Captain America had discussed him. He refers to Captain as his greatest enemy. “You haven’t met us for 20 years and your first question was about you?” Asked Natasha.
After the trailer, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige got on stage and revealed more information about the plot of the film. According to Kevin, the film plot will explore Black Widow’s past in Russia as part of the Red Chamber program and also build a plotline for the future MCU films.
Some several interesting aspects and hints appear in this new trailer. From what is shown, Melina and Yelena were Natasha’s family before she entered SHIELD. This will create tension because Yelena is known to be loyal to Russia.
Even more interesting is the Red Guardian’s relationship with Captain America and how he thinks Steve Rogers is his enemy. In the comics, the Red Guardian lived during World War II and was chosen during the Cold War to be the Soviet Union’s answer to Captain America.
Meanwhile, it looks like the two people didn’t intersect with each other because Steve was frozen when Alexei Shostakov became a Red Guardian, please remember that at the end of Avengers: Endgame, Steve chose to stay in the past after returning the Stone of Immortality, living life as if he didn’t fall into the Arctic.
Black Widow had filmed in February. The film is confirmed as a prequel to Natasha’s death in Avengers: Endgame. The film is set on a timeline between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War. Black Widow again presents Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff. Besides, Florence Pugh also appeared as Yelena Belova, Rachel Weisz as Melina, and David Harbor as Alexei Shostakov / Red Guardian.
